Dr. med. Thomas Paffrath

Thomas is one of the five medical initiators and co-founders of CONUS. He brings decades of experience in trauma surgery, hand surgery, and severe injury care.

After positions in Hanover, Cologne, Bensberg, and Essen, he completed his doctorate on the TraumaRegister of the German Society for Trauma Surgery, which he had co-founded in 1993. Since 2020, he has headed the Department of Trauma and Hand Surgery at Krankenhaus der Augustinerinnen in Cologne.

As co-founder of ATLS Germany and the TDSC program, and former head of the DGU section for emergency, intensive care, and severe injury care, Thomas has helped shape nationwide standards in trauma care.
